Depending on the power box you use...a voltage of 7.0 or higher is needed to start the machine when using the stroke settings 2.6, 2.9 and 3.0.  Once the machine starts you can adjust down to the slower speed you prefer.  To avoid this extra step, we suggest using a power box with a "jump start" feature like the Atom X, Critical XR, or the Critical XR-D.  If you like running your machines with a longer stroke setting we recommend the Valkyr's big sister...The Valhalla.
